Hair Loss Treatment with PRP in Philadelphia, PA

Hair Loss Treatment with prp

See us for Hair Loss Treatment in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Maple Shade, New Jersey, Bala Cynwyd , Pennsylvania, and the surrounding areas. The Falcone Center offers hair loss treatment with PRP.

What Is PRP? How Does It Apply To Hair Loss Treatments?

PRP (short for platelet-rich plasma) is basically just blood that has been spun really fast in a centrifuge, a process that separates the plasma from red blood cells. Inside this plasma are small structures known as platelets, which contain growth factors that are key in the body’s wound healing process.

Once the plasma is separated, two different chemicals are added: thrombin and calcium chloride. These further increase the level of growth factors in the plasma, which is re-added to a syringe and injected into key areas of the scalp.

Over time, this can help stimulate the growth of hair follicles, reduce miniaturization (shrinking of hair follicles), and more—whether you’re a man or a woman.

What To Expect During Your Hair Loss Treatment with PRP

Prior to your PRP hair loss treatment, you’ll meet with Dr. Falcone and the friendly, helpful staff at The Falcone Center, who will formulate a treatment plan to meet your wants and needs.

Just prior to your PRP hair loss treatment, you’ll need to clean your scalp by washing your hair thoroughly. Also, make sure you don’t use any products to style your hair.

On the day of your hair loss treatment with PRP, Dr. Falcone will start by using a local anesthetic to numb the treatment area. At this same time, one of The Falcone Center for Functional, Cosmetic, and Integrative Medicine staff will draw a sample of your blood, add the vial to a centrifuge, and then collect the platelet-rich plasma in another syringe.

Finally, the platelet-rich plasma will be injected just below the surface of the scalp. In total, the procedure likely won’t take longer than 60 to 90 minutes.

What Happens After Your PRP Hair Loss Treatment?

After Dr. Falcone has completed your PRP treatment for hair loss, you’ll be given specific instructions on how to care for your scalp in order to experience the best results.

In general, though, PRP hair loss treatments are outpatient (you can go home the same day), cause little-to-no discomfort, are minimally invasive, and require no downtime.

How Much Does a Hair Loss Treatment with PRP Cost in Philadelphia, PA?

Similar to most cosmetic procedures, how much your PRP hair loss treatment costs will depend on a variety of individual factors. This includes the level of thinning, whether or not you’ll be supplementing PRP with other treatments such as hair transplants, and much more.

To learn more, be sure to contact Dr. Falcone and The Falcone Center at 267-536-5067.

The cost of PRP hair loss treatment will vary, but to offer the best possible care for our patients, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and financing via CareCredit®.

Are PRP Hair Loss Treatments Right For You?

As we discussed above, PRP hair loss treatments come with several advantages, including no downtime, no pain or discomfort, as well as the fact that they’re minimally invasive. Other benefits include no trauma to follicles, no risk of allergic reactions or rejection (since the material is coming from your own body), and no surgical incisions.

However, there are some things to consider about a hair loss treatment with PRP. You’ll probably experience mild tenderness, redness, and swelling, and the procedure might work better for some patients than others. For example, it likely won’t be effective in completely bald areas.

What To Expect During Your PRP Hair Loss Treatment Consultation

During your consultation, Dr. Victoria Falcone will talk with you about what you’re looking to achieve with PRP hair loss treatments, and what kinds of results you can realistically expect. She’ll then create an individualized treatment plan based on your needs.

As the director of The Falcone Center, Dr. Victoria Falcone’s  vision is to bring her patients the most advanced cosmetic treatments and techniques to help maintain and restore a more youthful appearance. Board certified with a decade’s worth of experience in Cosmetic Medicine and licensed to practice medicine by both the Pennsylvania and New Jersey State Medical Boards, she has specialty training in Laser and Aesthetic Medicine, Functional and Integrative Medicine, Liposuction Surgery, Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Medical Weight Loss, Neuromuscular Medicine, Nutrigenomics, Music Therapy and Cranial Osteopathy. Please call today to schedule your free initial consultation!
